Note from Elias: “I Don’t Say Much, But This Feels Worth Saying”
I used to think I wasn’t built for the spotlight.
I still think that, most days.
I’m Elias, though most people just call me that — my real name is Auden Cole. Angie gave me the nickname “Elias” one day, and it just kind of stuck. It felt more like a feeling than a name. So I kept it.
I grew up in a quiet place, in a house where music played softly and books had their own rooms. I didn’t plan on becoming a musician. I thought I’d be a writer — maybe teach literature somewhere foggy. But then life changed. As it tends to.
Loss has a way of pulling melodies out of you, even if you didn’t know they were there.
Now, I sing with Angie. Not because we were looking for each other, but because the music led us to the same road. Our voices sound better together. Not cleaner, not stronger — just more true. Like two pages from the same book that finally remembered they belong next to each other.
I don’t like explaining the songs too much. They mean what they need to mean, depending on who’s listening.
But I’ll say this:
If you’ve ever had a hard time saying how you feel,
If you’ve ever written a message and deleted it,
If you’ve ever sat in a parked car long after the music stopped —
Then I hope these songs feel like they’re yours, too.
Thanks for being here.
— Elias
