Liner Notes for Lonely Road, Open Sky
A Gathering of Blue
Lonely Road, Open Sky
Liner Notes
Welcome
This album wasn’t born in a rush.
It came softly — in late nights and long drives, in handwritten notes passed back and forth, in the kinds of quiet that don’t demand attention, but ask to be heard.
Lonely Road, Open Sky is our first record as A Gathering of Blue. It’s a map of where we’ve been — not geographically, but emotionally. A collection of questions, confessions, and tiny hopes stitched together by melody.
We never set out to be loud. Just honest.
The Music
These songs are more than stories — they’re spaces.
Places where you can sit down with your own ache, your own tenderness, and know you don’t have to explain it all.
You’ll hear two voices — Angie’s warm alto and Elias’s gentle baritone — winding around each other like conversations that feel more like shared memory than performance. You’ll hear fingerpicked guitars, ambient textures, soft pianos, layered harmonies that rise like breath, and percussion that comes in only when it’s needed.
We didn’t write these songs for algorithms.
We wrote them for the part of you that still believes in quiet things that matter.
The Journey
From Lonely Road, Open Sky — a meditation on motion and meaning —
to The Light Inside, which closes the album with a gentle kind of triumph,
this album moves through:
Longing and distance (Come Find Me, Underneath the Same Sky)
Love and its quiet companions (By Your Side, Where I Begin)
Wounds and healing (Ghosts of Yesterday, Half My Heart)
Hope and homecoming (Hope in the Distance, The Light Inside)
Each track was crafted with care, not polish.
They’re imperfect — like us. Which means they’re real.
Special Thanks
To the friends who held space for us.
To the ones who stayed.
To everyone who’s ever whispered hope into the silence.
This is for you.
If You’re Reading This
Thank you.
For listening.
For feeling.
For giving these songs a place to land.
We hope they make you feel less alone.
We hope they help you breathe softer.
We hope you find your own open sky.
